Biografía Shanti
Shanti Matkin is nowadays considered one of the leading artists of the new generation of the trance scene. His carreer started very early, by the age of 13 and when he was 14 he was already on the line up of the Voov Festival - one of the biggest and most reknowned trance festivals in the world.
Besides of djing around the world, the taste for production was also developed very early. He started producing with his older brother Riktam and his partner Bansi (GMS), developing a unique sound with fat and groovy baselines, with some industrial elements from techno and techouse increased with psychedelic melodies which are included in most all tracklists of the leading djs around the world.
Marked by the ability to create, soon he was invited to produce tracks with the veterans of the trance scene such as Dino Psaras, Atomic Pulse, 1200 Mics, Deedrah, Bushman, Earthling and Wrecked Machines. Also remixes from artists like Talamasca and Sub6 were done and played all around the globe.
Since 2001, he´s a confirmed attraction for all the Vision Quest´s Gathering, one of the biggest trance festivals in Japan, having even one of his tracks - Smell´s Like Victory - as soundtrack of the promotional videoclip from the DVD of the Festival in 2003.
In 2003, Shanti released his debut album "A Machines Dream" with Vision Quest in Japan, with much success, Shanti has been working on his second album and a remix album of his best hits due for release on spun records in 2006.
