Biography Vladislav Sendecki

(Pianist, keyboarder, composer, arranger, producer)

* Born in 1955 in Gorlice, close to Krakow (Poland)

* Primary music school until the age of 11

* Subsequently attends the Frederic Chopin School of Music and takes lessons with H. Szkielska and L.Stefanski, among others

* At the age of 15 tours Holland and Belgium as a classical pianist

* 1973 – 1981 studies piano and composition at the Academies of Music in Krakow and Katowice. Rectors: K. Penderecki, M.Gorecki

* Discovers a love of jazz and improvised music in 1974. Founder of the groups “Extra Ball” and later “Sunship”

* Awarded first prize at the international jazz festival “Jazz on Odra River” (1978)

* Awarded the jazz critics’ first prize, high sales figures, followed by invitations to numerous international jazz festivals

* Works with the Novi Singers and Z. Namyslowski, among others

* 1981 – emigrates to Switzerland

* Concerts, tours and productions primarily in the USA, Germany and Switzerland

* Works internationally with artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Lenny White, Marcus Miller, Billy Cobham, Larry Coryell, Michael and Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson, M. Urbaniak, Klaus Doldinger of “Passport” fame, Victor Bailey, Miroslav Vitous, Jojo Meyer, Peter Herbolzheimer, Buster Williams, Til Brönner, Christof Lauer, Tomas Stanko, Nils Langren and many more

* Founder and member of the “Polski Jazz Ensemble”

* End of the eighties – works increasingly as composer and producer

* 1994 – works as composer/producer on the rock album “Haunted”, based on the music of R.Wagner, released by MCA

* 1995 – moves to Germany

* Recordings of “Mondspinner”, awarded the Deutscher Schallplattenpreis 1997

* Founder of the Hamburg Jazz Quartet

* Permanent member of the NDR Big Band

* Production of “ANIMA MUNDI” (“Soul of the World”)

* Own free electronic trio – “The Wanderer” with Reiner Winterschladen – trumpet and Stephan Maass – percussion

* Vitold Rek – Charlie Mariano Quartet with Martin France

* Co-producer of the album Ingolf B4 feat. Ingolf Burkhardt, Ian Thomas, Paul Imm

* “Urban Mask” with Colin Towns and Andy Sheppard, among others

* Member of the Wolfgang Haffner Band

* Appears on over 100 records as a studio musician
