Biography
Mick Nye is the recording name of the composer and saxophonist Michael Nyvang. Michael Nyvang - born in 1963 in Denmark - have been working with visual artists, such as Charlotte Guibé (video) and the actress Emma Morin (voices) since the art exhibition PLAST at La Generale in Paris 2007, where the first Mick Nye compositions were presented (From space with love, 22 minutes). He have since then been experimenting with various directions, from pop over jazz to more hardcore rock inspirations. As a composer Michael Nyvang have mostly been working within the confines of classical contemporary music since he in 1995 took his diploma from The Royal Danish Music Academy in Aarhus/Jutland in the composition class of Per Nørgård. Lately - in 2009 - the Oscar winning director Niel Jordan licensed electronic music by Michael Nyvang for one of hís recent feature movies.
