History Dave Holland Big Band

The Dave Holland Big Band is a thirteen-piece jazz band led by bassist Dave Holland, known for his work with Miles Davis ("In a Silent Way" (Columbia, 1969) and "Bitches Brew" (Columbia, 1969)) and the band Circle, with such musicians as the great saxophone player Anthony Braxton.

The big band has been described as an extension of his Dave Holland Quintet, featuring trombonist Robin Eubanks and saxophonist Chris Potter. They have released two albums: "Overtime" (Dare2 Records, 2005) and "What Goes Around".
