Biography

Yves Robert (* 17. January 1958 in Chamalières) is a french Posaunist of Modern Creative Jazz.

Robert studied until 1976 at the Vichy Conservatory and then continued to be active in the Jazz clubs of Lyon and Nancy. He got in touch with the Jazz Avantgarde through the Association à la Recherche d’un Folklore Imaginaire (ARFI) and its Big Band Marmite Infernal. Afterwords he worked with the german-french jazz ensemble (under Albert Mengelldorff and Henri Texier) as well as with Didier Levallet, Steve Lacy, Chris McGregor, Louis Sclavis, Gil Evans and the Orchestre National de Jazz. He performed with André Jaume, Heiner Goebbels, Marc Ducret, Daniel Humair, Wolfgang Reisinger, Andreas Willers, Daniel Erdmann and Joëlle Léandre. Since the beginning of the 90's he formed his own groups with which he performed on european festivals.
