Short time ago I saw the movie „American Hardcore“. They were talking about DIY, attitude and energy.
That’s what SKEPTIC ELEPTIC is all about since they had their first sessions together in a small garage back in 1999. 4 little bored boys wanted to go out and show the world their imagine of rough underground guitar hooks, straight bass lines, hard drum beats and a pretty unique voice.
When the band learned how to play their instruments, they kicked out their first Glam influenced album “Madmans Bride No1”. NYC, early 70ies feeling, leather jackets and The New York Dolls, if you want.
After lots of girls, parties and alcohol SKEPTIC ELEPTIC recorded their second longplayer “Sick Sick Sick”. Sixties was big, chelsea boots, eyeliners, trash and psychedelic parts, as the CRAMPS do, were in.
“Sick Sick Sick” was released in 3 countries; Japan (Revel Yell Music), two times in Germany and in Austria it’s available in all big stores. In 2006 SKEPTIC ELEPTIC won one of the biggest awards in their town, the “Youngsters of Arts“ and released a split with Austrians finest Rock‘n‘Rollers “The Staggers”.
In the meantime the band played shows with Marky Ramone, The Klaxons, Gods of Blitz, The Infadels, The Fuzztones, The Exploited, The Beatsteaks, UK Subs and other genious Rock‘n‘Roll bands of the world. They were on tour in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and of course in Austria.
In 2007 SKEPTIC ELEPTIC have won all important competitions they were into with their cover-hit- single “ATOMIC”. Finally the bastards played at this years “FM4 Frequency”, one of Austrias biggest open air festivals, with groups like The KAISER CHIEFS, NINE INCH NAILS, BILLY TALENT, DIE ÄRZTE, INTERPOL and many more. SKEPTIC ELEPTIC stole their girls and whisky and are now breaking through with their new album “GET ADDICTED”.
