История The Texas Drag Queen Massacre

The band started as a small idea between two massive Wednesday 13 fans when they met at a party in November 2003. Al. B. Damned and Stitches became real good friends and started coming up with little ideas for a band that would cross all their favourite bands together. All they needed was a guitarist and a bassist and the idea could become reality. Stitches introduced Al. B. Damned to Face the guitarist of his current band DeVille at one of their local gigs. Face joined in with the ideas for the band and work began in January 2004 with Al. B. Damned on vocals, Stitches on drums, Face on guitar and Harry The Hatchet on second guitar (another former member of DeVille)

At first things didn't work out as smoothly as the band might have hoped. Harry left and the band still didn't have a bassist or a name. Later that month a band name was decided and The Texas Drag Queen Massacre was born. The band practised and worked on their material until March 26th when they got their first gig at QE Fest a local school's concert replacing the ever fading DeVille. Face, Al. B. Damned and Stitches had fifteen minutes to prepare and played four songs, three of which they'd never played together before. The gig was small and pretty shit but it didn't dishearten the band at all.

On April 24th the band supported The Lillettes, an all girl, all glam, punk rock band from Bournemouth. The girls seemed impressed with TDQM even though Lillettes' bassist Lucille filled in for the missing man. The band decided now they really needed a bassist and Andy Cadaver took on that role a few days later. Andy played his first gig with TDQM at Bartonka on May 14th with Abuse, Tacoma Katie and Monotype.

For the next few months TDQM played all sorts of small gigs, with all sorts of small bands round their locals towns. It wasn't until they recorded their first EP, the thirteen track "Violence Is Golden" in May that the band's music began to take shape and get a following. The band sold copies of their album at gigs and to fans, friends and family for the next few months. On October 30th, the night before Halloween TDQM played at a haunted mansion in Wales to celebrate Halloween with the coolest, wildest bunch of people ever. The gig was an amazing experience for the band and got them in contact with Toddy who worked as the band's manager for a few months to try and organise them and get them on track. She helped to get TDQM a small gig at Brighton's Concorde2 on February 7th 2005. Unfortunately afterwards TDQM and Toddy slowly parted ways and Toddy stopped being the manager for the band.

After a gig in Leicester the band seemed to disappear for a while between February 16th and June 12th TDQM didn't play any gigs. It seemed that the fans were fading away and with lack of updates to the website and no gigs TDQM seemed to be fading too. But this was only the beginning of a complete change.

On August 13th TDQM returned to the Concorde2 with a new image, a new stage show and a new bassist named E-Gore. The show blew the crowd away and TDQM's popularity rocketed. Over the next few months TDQM played some great gigs, visited some fans and had a great time in Holland, and even had the honour to support Acey Slade's Trash Light Vision on December 12th and 13th.

2006 has so far brought TDQM quite a lot of work. The band became five with the addition of second guitarist Worm, an old friend of Face's. Their second album "His And Hearse" was recorded on February 8th 2006 and is due for release soon. They also have the possibility of supporting Wednesday 13 and Trash Light Vision later in the year.
