Urban Heroes

Urban Heroes is a Dutch rockband, from the city of Den Haag (The Hague). It all started with Jaap de Jonckheere (guitar), Martin Zonderop (bass) and Ad van der Ree (drums) who played together in the jazz rock formation Storm. They teamed up with Jeroen Ernst (keys) and Evert Nieuwstede (vocals) and formed The Urban Heroes in 1979.

With Shell Schellekens as producer they started making records with a style that's a mixture of new wave and ska, with a hint of funk. Their first album 'Who said... Urban Heroes' even caught the attention of American critics who liked the sound.
