Deichkind is a German band formed in Hamburg in 1999. Initially comprising MC Malte, Philipp, Buddy, and producer Sebi, the group's sound evolved significantly over the years. DJ Phono has been a consistent presence, supporting the band during live performances.
The band first gained attention in 2000 with their hip hop debut album, Bitte ziehen Sie durch. This was followed by Noch fünf Minuten, Mutti in 2002. In 2005, Deichkind participated in the Bundesvision Song Contest, representing Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and finishing 14th.
