Cœur is the multi-genre solo project of Essex-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Levi Miah. Initially rooted in post-metal, the project's debut album, Horizons, was released in 2016 after seven years of development. This foundational work, characterized by large, atmospheric soundscapes, followed two soundtracks—Dr. Grinspoon… and Bloom—created for art films. Subsequent releases built upon the electronic, drone, and classical elements established in Horizons.
By the end of 2017, Cœur's involvement in soundtrack composition led to the release of Prequel. This album delved deeply into the electronic facets of the project, drawing inspiration from 1970s and 1980s film scores, including those for Deep Red and Scarface.
