History
Carlos Rivera Guerra, professionally known as Carlos Rivera, was born on March 15, 1986, in Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Mexico. He gained widespread recognition after winning the third season of the reality television singing competition La Academia in 2004.
Rivera's musical journey began early. Even as a child, he was a local talent, securing numerous singing competition victories and hosting a radio program on Radio Huamantla. His breakthrough came at 18 when he emerged as the winner of La Academia. Following this success, he signed with Sony BMG in 2005 and began working on his debut album. During this period, he also participated in Desafío de Estrellas 2, finishing in fifth place. His early career also included acting roles, notably playing "Fausto" in the TV Azteca series La vida es una canción and making a cameo appearance in the serial Los Sánchez.
On October 3, 2006, Rivera released his self-titled debut CD/DVD. In 2008, he took on a guest role in the Mexican production of the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast for a limited engagement. Starting in July 2009, he starred as Sky in the Mexico City production of the musical Mamma Mia!.
