Insigma was a musical project spearheaded by Steve Helstrip and Andy Perring. Their journey began when Helstrip shared a three-minute demo of a track he was developing with Perring. Perring then took this initial idea and transformed it into a complete 12-inch mix. The track, discovered nine months later on a CD-R, eventually led to the formation of Insigma. Tim Stark played a key role in encouraging Helstrip and Perring to sign the track, resulting in their self-titled debut release.
Following their debut, Insigma quickly released "Open Our Eyes," a track that became a notable club anthem. Initially released on the ATCR label, its impact grew when it was picked up by Virgin Records, where its significant appeal was further recognized. The track gained considerable traction, being included in compilations by prominent DJs such as Paul Oakenfold and Tiësto in 2002, appearing on Oakenfold's 'Ibiza Travelling' and Tiësto's 'Revolution' respectively. This marked "Open Our Eyes" as a standout track featured on both influential compilations that year. The track was later reissued on ATCR, featuring the original club mix alongside a new remix by Chiller Twist.
