The Strokes - Reality Awaits
Performers
Information and roles of the performers
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City, New York, United States, formed in 1998. The band rose to fame in the early 2000s as a leading group in garage rock/post-punk revival. The band consists of Julian Casablancas (lead vocals), Nick Valensi (lead guitar), Albert Hammond, Jr. (rhythm guitar), Nikolai Fraiture (bass guitar) and Fabrizio Moretti (drums and percussion).
Upon the release of their debut album, Is This It, in 2001, the group was met with much critical acclaim, being hailed by some as the "saviors of rock and roll." NME made Is This It their Album of the Year. Since then, the band has maintained a large fan base, notably in the UK, US and Australia. As of 2007, Is This It has sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide.
Formed in 2011 in Brixton, South London, Fat White Family has earned a reputation as one of the most provocative and uncompromising acts in the British independent music scene. Led by brothers Lias and Nathan Saoudi alongside guitarist Saul Adamczewski, the band is known for a confrontational aesthetic and lyrics that explore transgressive subject matter.
The group’s foundations were built on the members' previous musical ventures. The Saoudi brothers performed in the band The Saudis, while Adamczewski was formerly a member of the indie-pop group The Metros. Fat White Family’s debut album, Champagne Holocaust, was released in 2013. The record introduced their signature blend of grimy post-punk, country, and garage rock, garnering critical attention for its raw production and subversive themes.
Alex Cameron is an Australian musician and singer-songwriter known for his synth-heavy pop and character-driven storytelling. Before embarking on a solo career, he established himself as a member of the Sydney-based electronic group Seekae. His work is characterized by a blend of 1980s-inspired melodies and lyrics that explore the lives of outsiders, failed entertainers, and the complexities of modern masculinity.
Cameron first gained attention in the music scene with Seekae, a band influential in the Australian electronic landscape. During his time with the group, he contributed to their reputation for atmospheric, experimental soundscapes. However, his solo ambitions led him to develop a distinct creative identity that moved away from purely electronic textures toward a more vocal-centric, narrative style.
