Iron Maiden Launches 2026 North American Tour in Toronto

High-Energy Anniversary Production Begins

The Heavy Metal icons Iron Maiden delivered a massive 17-song set in front of a packed crowd, marking the start of a month-long trek across North America. The "Run For Your Lives" world tour celebrates the band's 50th anniversary, featuring a state-of-the-art production designed for stadiums and major amphitheaters. The current tour highlights the band's career-defining early decades, with a setlist exclusively featuring material from their first nine studio albums, spanning from 1980's Iron Maiden to 1992's Fear of the Dark.

The Toronto performance featured the first Canadian appearance of the song "Infinite Dreams" since 1988, when it was originally performed during the tour for the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album. This addition was one of the few changes made to the setlist compared to the tour's 2025 European leg. The band also maintained their strict policy regarding mobile devices, having previously urged fans to:

Lineup Changes and Future Plans

The 2026 tour legs feature the band's new drummer, Simon Dawson, who replaced longtime member Nicko McBrain following the conclusion of "The Future Past Tour" in December 2024. Dawson previously served as a session drummer and has been the rhythm section partner of bassist Steve Harris in the band British Lion for 14 years.

While the band is currently focused on their extensive global itinerary, they have confirmed they will not attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 14 in Los Angeles. Singer Bruce Dickinson has previously referred to the institution as a "vulgar" mausoleum. Manager Rod Smallwood clarified the band's position earlier this year:

"As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles"

Following the North American dates, which include a headlining slot at the Louder Than Life festival on September 17, the tour will continue through South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The band has announced plans to take 2027 off from touring.
